I am very excited right now. This was a great fight; I had trained very hard for this and I could not be happier. I want to thank you for all of your support through my training and the fight. Congrats to the other winners tonight. Lets party.

Great fight GSP! hope your healing goes well. rest up so the injury doesn't become an issue in your next fight. Surley your next opponent will use the possibility of this injury linguring into your next fight as a way to try break you. Your profound ability to mentally block the pain for that many rounds tells me that your martial arts training goes far beyond the physical. keep up the focus. As for going up in weight to fight SILVA. I personally think this is a bad idea until you have completed you origional goal, and that is title defences solidifying you being the BEST EVER WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPION! Though i think you will do well against SILVA it has been proven in the past that a smaller fighter moving up a weight class too fast has come with defeat. You should put the extra weight on gradually so you don't loose you speed which is one of the KEYS to your very well-rounded game. Hey the decision is yours to make you have a great team and have a good head on your shoulders.

That was a great fight Georges! I'm a big fan and a big fan of the sport. Ever since 1993 first ever UFC! I was nervous for you in the lead up to that night because of the formidable opponent Alves presented but you completely dominated - I mean total domination. More so even than your fight with Koshcheck. You are destined for greatness in the world of MMA. Hold on to that destiny and keep your focus and we will have our first Canadian in the UFC hall of fame.

What a fight! Every round you dominated him, flipped him to his back and would not let him stand up. Even when u were on the bottom your guard was too good. Wish I could of caught ur fight live, instead I was in an irish pub cheering you! You do make Canada proud and strong. I suggest a national holiday St. pierre Day where we can party to you! P4P king !!! You make it look so easy against #1 contenders, your strategies are far and away the best in MMA period. Even with all of Canada on your back and a bad abductor strain you still imposed your will like no one else could and remained poised throughout the fight. I was kinda looking for you to listen to Greg Jackson and hit him with your groin, LOL. You make it so easy to be proud to be Canadian. Once again you've made your nation proud! I'm a firefighter in Alberta, and you had my entire crew on the edge of our seats as we watched you cope with your injury and still dominate Thiago. Your humble nature, perserverance and dedication to your craft is an inspiration to all. Hope you feel better fast, I know how much it hurts to have a groin injury.
You made Alves look like a 3rd string fighter and not the #1 contender, simply amazing.

Congratulations GSP!!! You are just amazing, to persevere and dominate alves with your injury is just incredible. I was blessed to watch it live and let me tell you you gave no sign at all that something was amiss. I later watched the replay and with the exception of you shaking your right leg a bit in I think round four, the only clue we got that something was wrong was when you said it.
Seriously, you are the SH*T!!!!!!!!!! Your in my prayers, I sincerely hope you have a quick and complete recovery from your injury.

I had no doubt you would retain the belt. You have an awesome approach to your fights. I could not wait to see your game plan unfold against Alves. You also have a great show of class. I personally do not care if you change weight classes to fight Silva. In some ways I think it is a bad move to go up a weight class-not that you couldn't hold your own. It's not your fault there is nobody in your weight class that can match your skill level. :D

George great fight your performance was outstanding even with the groin injury! I really want to see you vs. Anderson Siva before he retires so there are no what ifs later down the road for best pound for pound fighter. You said so yourself you don't fight to be champion anymore you fight for your legacy... in my opinion you defiantly should put the hard word on Dana and ask for a shot with Anderson. I saw an interview where you said you would have to have a few months to put on the weight etc I really think you should do it! I'm fairly new to UFC and had never heard of you before this fight. I saw the video reel of Alves and thought that you were in for a very long and hard night.
After that performance I will never doubt you again. You truly are the most rounded MMA fighter in the UFC, and unlike most of those trash talking Yanks are very respectful of your opponents.

J'étais assis sur le bout de ma chaise tout le long et encore une fois tu as prouvé, que même blessé au 3ème round a l'intérieur de la cuisse, tu pouvais être dominant. Je Ne vois vraiment pas qui pourrait te rivalisé maintenant a part monté en poids, mais je sais que c'est pas évident sur le body.

Your fight last night was amazing.You controlled every aspect of the standing fight, and the ground and pound and watching you still continue to take him to the mat in the third, fourth and fifth rounds with a groin injury was very impresive. You have got to be the best well rounded fighter in MMA today. Also the way you conduct yourself is very hummbleing to see in such a physical sport.
Hope you heal up 100% and the best fo luck in the future. I'll be watching

Uhhhhh you know the tatoo on his chest is Jiu - Jitsu (Gentle Technique) He wears the Kyokusin symbols on his Gi.

Dude that was a great fight. I was so nervous as the first round was starting, bouncing up and down with my hands up like I was the one having to fight haha..but to no surprise you went out there and handled your business in flying fashion. Rocking him, taking him down at will (even with a torn abductor), and mutualizing the striking game. It was a great fight. I know you wanted to finish the fight, but it was still great, besides..after having the great KO by Henderson, I'm sure we all were satisfied hahaha (i haven't met one person who likes Bisping). Loved the cornering by Greg Jackson.."I tore my groin" - "IDC!! GO OUT THERE AND HIT HIM WITH IT!!" haha I laughed so hard..and he was like "Okay he is going to be desperate, he's gonna come at you so please keep your hands up would ya?"
And my favorite thing about you is even when you win, you're humble about it. Most fighters love to be cocky and showboat *cough* Rashad *cough* but you maintain the gentlemen's code and I love that. Be safe, hope your leg heals quick, good luck and major congrats bro!

Ce UFC 100 est un des meilleurs qu'on ait vu à date, sauf pour le clown à Lesner qui est loin d'avoir la classe de notre athlète de Montréal. Faudra qu'il se fasse parler ce gars là pour lui expliquer que la UFC c'est pas la WWE. Avant le combat, c'est correct de faire du bla-bla, mais quand le combat est fini faut pas chier sur ses adversaires et faire des déclarations stupides (Lesner nous a en effet montré que son QI est pas trop fort). L'esprit sportif ça existe. C'est le seul ombrage au tableau d'une carte qui a été très exitante.

Georges, tu as ENCORE réussi à dominer un adversaire là où il est supposé être dominant!!
Ta force physsique est très grande sur le ring, mais lorsqu'on t'observe bien, on prend rapidement conscience d'une chose qui est sous-évaluée chez toi : ton intelligence!!! Comme tu es brillant sur le plan de ta défense et de tes stratégies d'attaque!
Tu impressionnes le monde entier par tes performances inspirées et la TRÈS TRÈS grande qualité de ta personne...Tu es tout simplement admirable d'être ce que tu es!
Tous veulent te voir affronter Anderson Silva maintenant, mais si tu veux mon avis de gérant d'estrade, je ne crois pas que tu aies à prouver quoi que ce soit à personne (peut-être à toi-même, toi seul le sait, comme tu l'as dit hier, tu pourrais accepter ce combat à titre de «challenge») et changer ainsi de catégorie. L'idée que tu te battes à 185 lbs n'est pas bonne, selon moi, il aurait un avantage énorme sur toi à ce poids. Accepterait-il de perdre son gras de bébé et descendre à 170, ce Silva ? Ça va d'un bord comme de l'autre, ça, tu le dominerais si ça se passait comme ça...
Pourquoi ne pas profiter de tout ce que tu as récolté suite à tous les efforts fournis et continuer à affronter quiconque voudra te détrôner dans ta catégorie ? De jeunes loups se pointeront...Bats le record de Hughes, tu en es capable!!!

As always, solid performance!!! Great footwork and great work taking advantage of the reach while standing. Alves came out with juice in the tank the first minute of every round, but was no match for the dominating performance. The Legacy continues!!!

Congratulations Georges! Fight was incredible, as always. Your game plan for Alves was well put together, and you executed it greatly. It took incredible mental strength to overcome the injury was dominate the last two rounds like you did. My wife was also very impressed...I got her into UFC when we were first dating, and the first fight she ever saw was when you defeated Frank Trigg in August 2005. Hope your recovery comes quickly, and you deserve all the success that has come your way. Thank you again for yet another amazing, and inspirational performance.
